Day by Day

  • Day 1 - Arrival in Nairobi

    Afternoon/Evening: Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi.
    Transfer: Meet and greet by Shiri Adventures, followed by transfer to your hotel in Nairobi.
    Evening: Relax and overnight at the hotel. (Optional: Dinner at a local restaurant)

  • Day 2: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

    Journey: Depart from Nairobi and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park.
    Wildlife: Known as a birdwatcher’s paradise, Lake Nakuru is home to flamingos, pelicans, and over 450 bird species. The park also hosts endangered black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, giraffes, and waterbucks.
    Experience: Enjoy an afternoon game drive, exploring the diverse wildlife and stunning views of the alkaline lake.
    Overnight: Stay at Sopa Lodge in Lake Nakuru, offering panoramic views of the park.

  • Day 3: Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara National Reserve

    Journey: After breakfast, travel to the world-renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve. Wildlife: Maasai Mara is a haven for the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. It’s also the stage for the Great Migration, where over 1.5 million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles cross the Mara River, a sight often accompanied by dramatic predator-prey encounters. Experience: Enjoy an afternoon game drive across the rolling plains, keeping an eye out for big cats and large herbivores.     Journey: After an early morning game drive, depart for Lake Naivasha. Wildlife: Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake that attracts a variety of birdlife, including kingfishers, cormorants, and the African fish eagle. The lake is also home to hippos, and you may spot giraffes, zebras, and antelopes grazing nearby. Experience: Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, offering close encounters with hippos and birdlife, and a guided walk on Crescent Island for a unique walking safari. Overnight: Stay at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge, nestled by the lake with views of the surrounding landscape.

  • Day 6: Amboseli National Park

    Wildlife: Spend the day exploring Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drives. The park’s marshes and swamps attract a diverse range of wildlife, including buffaloes, hippos, and over 400 species of birds. Amboseli is also known for its research on elephant families, making it a prime location for observing elephant behavior. Optional Activity: Visit a Maasai village to learn about the local culture and traditions. Overnight: Return to Amboseli Sopa Lodge for a relaxing evening.
